Magneto Therapy (PMT): Using Magnetic Fields to Heal Faster
July 22, 2026 · 4 min read · by Hari Om · 55
Pulsed electro-magnetic field therapy is one of our most requested modalities for fractures, arthritis and slow-healing injuries.
Pulsed Magnetic Therapy (PMT) passes a gentle, pulsing magnetic field through the injured area. It has been used for decades in physiotherapy to support bone healing and reduce inflammation, and it is completely non-invasive and painless.
How it helps recovery
- Encourages faster bone healing after fractures (used alongside your orthopaedic follow-up)
- Improves circulation to the treated joint or muscle
- Reduces swelling and stiffness in osteoarthritis
- Supports recovery in delayed or non-union fractures, under doctor supervision
What a session feels like
You simply rest the affected limb near the magnetic coil for 15-20 minutes. There's no heat, no needles and no discomfort — many patients read or relax during the session.
Magneto therapy is not suitable if you have a pacemaker or certain metal implants — our team always checks this before your first session.
