Age-related wear in the neck's discs and joints is extremely common — here's how physiotherapy keeps it from limiting your daily life.
Cervical spondylosis is age-related wear and tear of the discs and joints in the neck. It's one of the most common reasons patients visit us with neck pain, stiffness, and sometimes tingling down the arm.
Typical symptoms
- Neck stiffness, worse in the morning
- Pain that spreads to the shoulder or shoulder blade
- Headaches starting at the base of the skull
- Tingling or weakness in the arm or hand (when a nerve is involved)
Our treatment approach
A combination of cervical traction, IFT or ultrasound for pain relief, manual therapy to restore movement, and a posture-correction exercise program (especially important for desk-job and mobile-phone users) gives lasting relief for most patients — without surgery.
